I am beginning to understand my panic attck pattern a little better and I am thinking that I am going to wake up very anxious. Wouls it help to take a Alprazolam before bed to avoid an ealry morning attack.
It might. It won't hurt to try. Just don't take more than you should because they can be very addicting and you really don't want that. You also might want to seriously consider doing yoga at night before you sleep. I used to have panic attacks about 5 years ago and one day it just stopped. I don't know if it's because I got a little older or what but one thing that really helped me was this book called The Self Esteem Companian. You can search it on Amazon. I was looking for self help books and found this book at the book store. It really doesn't have anything to do specifically with panic attacks but it really helped me. There are exercises (mental and visual) in there that they have that are really awesome. You should check it out. Maybe you could take the Alprazolam right when you wake up. Seriously though, that book might really help you,.

I think I have been having panic attacks lately and my heart races and then I become very light headed. I want to know if it is normal to become light headed when having a panic attack?
Light headed is caused by hyperventilation. When you panic, your body breathes faster than it should causing hyperventilation thus, making you feel light headed. Treat it by breathing in a paper bag.

When I am in an elevator or closed space, I sometimes get a panic attack. I'll be completely fine on a plane and the suddenly i'll realize i'm trapped 10 thousand some-odd feet in the air and i'll get hot, and squirm. sometimes I hyperventiliate and think I'm choking, going to be sick or, think i cant breathe. Does anyone know of any tips to deal with this?
Dealing with Phobias are tricky. My suggestion is to take baby-steps, although that may be difficult if you travel by plane a lot. If you feel an onset of attack, try to blank your mind. Tell yourself that you are fine and those walls are NOT closing in on you. Emerse yourself into something you enjoy, such as reading or cross stitching to distract yourself from your feelings. Practice breathing, yoga style, long deep relaxing breaths.

I have agorophobia that means your afraid of leaving your home and if you do leave you have to go with someone you can't just go somewhere by yourself.I only get panic attacks when im somewhere in line or outside of my porch.Lat time i was deppress in my room and i was crying and i stared to feel like if i couldn't breath or like if i was chocking was that a panic attack? Can i still get panic attacks in my house even tough i have agorophobia?
You seem to be an anxious person. It is possible for you to get panic attacks inside your house.

I went to the er because of this they said i have panic attack disorder and prescribed me ativan? Just wondering what others side affects are from panic disorder. Thanks in advance.
Yes panic attacks commonly cause tingling and numbness. It happens when you hyperventilate - maybe you felt like you couldn't breathe properly yet you were breathing really deeply.
When you breathe out, you get rid of carbon dioxide. If you breathe faster, you get rid of more carbon dioxide than usual, so less is left in your blood. This changes the pH of your blood - it gets more alkaline. This then has lots of other effects, one of which is to make you very tingly and dizzy and generally feel weird. This is why people are sometimes told to breathe into a paper bag - they breathe back in some of the carbon dioxide they just breathed out, so they don't get rid of som much.

Here’s a good run on the “Impossible” tier song Panic Attack in Rock Band 2. This is probably my favorite song in the game, i’ve been getting really into Dream Theater lately. Definitely expect better runs than this, i’m going for an FC on this song. =)
Woo, so close to a solo FC here, and not too many out-of-solo misses either. I actually had a better run earlier tonight with an FC up to the solo (1900 NS O_o), but one of my activations was off so it was 2k lower than this run. I FC’ed the solo twice in a row in Practice after that, so i’m not too far off from an FC. ^_^b

I was just curious but how do you know if your having and panic attack and what can cause them?
The symptoms of an anxiety attack usually go as follows…
- you start hyperventilating. It starts out slow and escalates
- your heart feels like it’s racing
- you get chest pain (this isn’t dangerous to your heart physically)
- you get dizzy
- you feel scared, panicked and feel like you’re dying or going to die.
- you can get completely numb in your extremities
- you feel weak and tired
- you have trouble breathing (like there’s not enough air)
Panic Attacks can be caused by any number of emotional triggers. Most often people with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) are prone to them.
I remember when a good friend of mine passed away and I had a panic attack. It was terrifying at the time. I found some really great ways for dealing with them at http://www.Stop-Anxiety-Panic-Attack.com
The thing is, you have to know the root cause of your attacks to start applying effective techniques. It’s not one particular “thing” that causes them. However the underlying cause is always some form of Anxiety.
