I feel light headed sometimes
like my heart isn’t beating hard enough or skipping beats
(I have a heart monitor on for 30 days and the cardiologist says that he hasn’t found anything yet)
cold feet and hands clammy as well
feeling in my mind that I am having a heart attack or stroke
hot flashes
light headed and dizzy
cramps and sharp pains in legs, arms and chest
feeling like I just need to run and get energy out, once I take a walk or do jumping jacks, I feel better
nausea and diarrhea
I periodically get pain in left side of neck only, left arm only, right leg only
Tingling in hands
I have had many EKGs blood work and xrays and the doctors say all is well
I just had a baby and am waking up every 3 hours
I am scared of a stroke but is this panic

its sounds like it could be a hun. i totally understand because i have them too. and many women get there first panic and anxiety attacks through pregnancy and or after the birth of a child. It will be ok. You need to discuss this more with the doctors and and maybe get some medication to help such as anti anxiety pills these wil definitely help if it is anxiety and u wil be back to ur old self again. but if these dont help it could be something more serious. Talk to your doctors about this i promise you everything will be fine!!

I have been on lexapro 20 mg for almost 2 years because of depression, but recently I have been feeling like maybe its not working??? i am wondering what actions to take to get on a good reliable medication that will treat these symptoms:constant tension, worry, (i also have been diagnosed with adult add)-the lack of concentration and drive to do daily activities, low energy, some days i will only get 2 hours of sleep while others I could sleep all day and still wake up tired as hell. I am always tired, and lately i think i have been having panic attacks…in a stressful situation-mostly when i interact with other people. I get this like paranoid feeling that I doing something stupid (maybe i am who knows, i sometimes care…sometimes i don't) or that other people are thinking that I am crazy by the way they look at me or talk to me. i know its wierd. But the anxiety is really start to eat away at me here lately. I don't understand why this happens, i used to be the cont'd…….
I used to be such a sociable interactive person…but the medication just is not working. I have heard of some medications to take this edge off (or chemically balance?) me, but what are some to recommend to talk to my doctor about?

Is a psychiatrist specialized in these disorders supervising your meds or just your GP? If you aren't seeing a psychiatrist I'd advice consulting one It's always best to get treatment from people with the most direct experience with what you are dealing with.

They could put you on Xanax for anxiety, it is a benzodiazapine. Benzos are really effective but the problem with them is that they can have a zombifying effect, "numbing people out" to where their personality is affected. Still they are still sometimes used for severe anxiety.

Are you on stimulant meds for ADD, I use a combination of concerta for ADHD and lexapro for anxiety.

Have you received therapy for the anxiety attacks? Behavioral and cognitive therapy is normally very affective in treating anxiety problems. Here is a URL that can help you find a behavioral/cognitive therapist:

One last thought, I hope you don't smoke marijuana, I was a daily pot-user for 5 years until I figured out that the natural amotivated nature of ADD is SEVERELY exacerbated by the additional amotivational affects from the cannabis.

Good luck.

I felt like I was seeing things and like the walls were closing in on me. I kept tossing and turning, and it took me a long time to get back to sleep.

Symptoms of a panic attack: heart beating quickly, shaking, palms sweating, feeling like you're going to lose control, feeling like you're going to die, feeling of unreality.

I first want to say a big huge THANK YOU to the head of ANI-JAM James and STAFF! And a MECHA BIGGEST HUGE THANK YOU to my AWESOME LOVIN FUN FANS OF ANI-JAM! I LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

For my concert at ANI-JAM this is the FIRST TIME I performed my BRAND NEW SONGS from my FIRST EVER FULL LENGTH ALBUM “SIDES” with 4 costume changes! And I only had a couple of mins to get into each costume!

And I just wanted to say that I do this because this is my TRUE HAPPINESS! I have such a passion for music, singing, anime, Japan, and LIFE! And every awesome opportunity I get like being a TOKYO REPORTER for COMCAST’S ANIME SELECTS or having my own FULL LENGTH ALBUM has all been because I am truly blessed but also because I have worked very hard at what I do!

And I really do joke around a lot. I am such a goofball and a lot of the things I say can be a little confusing at times! Like “is she really joking”? LOL! But I hope I can show people that I also do have a very serious complex side as well! I know you are saying “What Stephanie Yanez”? Haaa! But I really have been through a lot. I don’t know if anyone knows but I lost my mother to brain cancer in 2001. For a year I stayed by her side. She was truly my best friend and it is still very hard for me to talk about it. And I know she is smiling right now as I am achieving my goals in my life! And everything that I have experienced good and bad has made me the strong person that I am today!

I am soooooooooo thankful that I have such LOVING FANS who truly support me with all of their heart! I was REALLY shown that this weekend and I am shown that everyday ONLINE as well! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH EVERYONE! I wouldn’t be here without you!

And without further a do….. HERE IS MY FIRST VIDEO FROM ANI-JAM 08! This song is an ORIGINAL SONG written in Japanese and English titled “CANDY COATED PANIC ATTACK” inspired by my black bombay cat LUNA and the anime movie “TAMALA 2010″! :)

Ai wo komete,

Can anyone give me advice for how to sort out anxiety. I tend to get the following when I’m about to go to something like a gig (like I am tonight) or a do, a club, whatever… I feel kind of sick and nervous, and like I almost want to say “oh, I’ll just stay at home” (which I don’t want to do tonight at all!” but I don’t ever feel short of breath, or like I’m “going to die” as I know is a common feeling during a panic attack.
My heart seems to beat very fast, but I think that’s quite normal for me, but I’m definitely aware of it.
Any ideas on what this nervous feeling actually is and how to get rid of it. It’s not just excitement it’s only happened over the past year or so. Also it lasts for ages, all day or especially in the run up to the event, not just for an hour or whatever.
I know this part is a bit silly but I also can’t drink much alcohol when I feel like this, which is ironic as I’m sure it would help, but I just don’t want to drink or eat much at all.

Beta blockers are great for releiving some of the symptoms of a panick attack, you dont need to tak them except when you need them, and they work pretty quick too (about 15 mins and last a good while after)

Apart form that, slow breating etc, or a more long term anti anxiety drug (usually used for depression) like venlafaxine (brand name effexor) or fluoxetine (prozac) or one of the many of those things.

For your case I would say beta blockers as they go to the root of fast heart beat, sweating, edgyness, and they slow the whole lot down.

Heart beat drops so body relaxes, in turn the edgyness comes down along with racing thoughts and sweating etc.

It all depends on the root cause of the anxiety and panick atttacks, but a doctor or pharmacist is a much better person to advise.

You could try diazepam (valium) but this can be very addictive, beta blockers, well, you cant get addicted to them!

visit a chemios and have a word with the pharmacist, they are fully qualified to give you advice, and if they feel its a bit more than is in there scope they will recommend visiting a doctor.

No! Panic attacks symptoms have never harmed anyone. Although they feel horrific and scary, panic attack symptoms are harmless and are simply exaggerated experiences of normal bodily sensations and reactions. Of all the people that I have spoken to about their own panic attack symptoms, none, including myself, ever came to any harm during the, literally thousands, of panic attacks we experienced.
