Here’s a good run on the “Impossible” tier song Panic Attack in Rock Band 2. This is probably my favorite song in the game, i’ve been getting really into Dream Theater lately. Definitely expect better runs than this, i’m going for an FC on this song. =)
Woo, so close to a solo FC here, and not too many out-of-solo misses either. I actually had a better run earlier tonight with an FC up to the solo (1900 NS O_o), but one of my activations was off so it was 2k lower than this run. I FC’ed the solo twice in a row in Practice after that, so i’m not too far off from an FC. ^_^b

I was just curious but how do you know if your having and panic attack and what can cause them?
The symptoms of an anxiety attack usually go as follows…
- you start hyperventilating. It starts out slow and escalates
- your heart feels like it’s racing
- you get chest pain (this isn’t dangerous to your heart physically)
- you get dizzy
- you feel scared, panicked and feel like you’re dying or going to die.
- you can get completely numb in your extremities
- you feel weak and tired
- you have trouble breathing (like there’s not enough air)
Panic Attacks can be caused by any number of emotional triggers. Most often people with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) are prone to them.
I remember when a good friend of mine passed away and I had a panic attack. It was terrifying at the time. I found some really great ways for dealing with them at http://www.Stop-Anxiety-Panic-Attack.com
The thing is, you have to know the root cause of your attacks to start applying effective techniques. It’s not one particular “thing” that causes them. However the underlying cause is always some form of Anxiety.

It seems to me that saying 'break a leg could give someone a full fledged panic attack.

"A leg" is one of several layers of hanging curtains to the side of and in front of a stage.
The expression originated by wishing someone luck enough to be able to get past the first layer of curtains just outside the dressing rooms that led to the stage area and actually being able to make it to the stage to perform at all in the old vaudeville days.
"Break a Leg" became a wish for good luck.

i forgot to mention in my lasst bit that i am on prozac for the panic attacks. what i want to know is if anyone has irregular heartbeats with em or just palpitations? Sometimes my heart skips irregular beats for about 10-15 beats and then returns to normal once the attack is over. that is what is really worrying me. Thanks
Oh yes - completely normal stuff. The heart seems to “stop and rest”. Make sure you get plenty of magnesium in your diet - that helps nerves and hearts quite a lot. Magnesium is one of those minerals which are very important to life, but we burn up a lot with anxiety problems.
The NOW supplement company makes a good magnesium pill with some calcium, vitamin D and zinc. Also might want to try 1000 mgs of taurine a day as well. That’s an amino acid which is also soothing for nerves and hearts.
They are callingl this “depression” these days - and a new treatment for depression is the use of massive doses of vitamin D. Ask your doctor about that. I’ve heard good things about it.
Anxiety and depression are all about “loss of control” - or being “out of control”. It often comes to the young adult as they leave childhood and step out into adulthood. There are many unknowns in adulthood. And the trick is to build a life where you can be content and in control.

I am having a really bad one at the moment and it feels like I can't breathe properly. My chest and throat are so tight they are suffocating me and my heart is racing. I also can't stop the tears from falling.
Just wondered if anyone has any good suggestions that may help, I seem to be getting more and more of them and they get worse. I feel so silly.
I am suffering from PTSD (complex traumas), Chronic Grief & Chronic Depression.

I dont know where to begin because I love u so much that knowing ur going through all this pain breaks my heart. I dont want to see u suffer as I know how awful it all has been for u. Please do not apologize for not feeling well. You have to take care of u and do whats best for u. You are a good person and deserve nothing less; and in time I hope u grow to believe this. You are allowed to feel as u feel. It is very normal and natural to feel as u do right now. Dont ever feel you have to explain your actions when it is about your well being. Nothing that u have experienced is ur fault or makes u any less of a person. I hope when u see ur pdoc and u explain to him in detail how the panic attacks affect u; not able to breathe etc. and he can suggest an additional medication to help u cope and relax. U know I wish u the very best and am here for u always. Feel good and Gob Bless.
